Not your typical Cinderella account…

What do you procure when you mix a bit of fairy tale-Cinderella world with some Shrek, throw in some Princess Bride, a runt bit of Disney’s Robin Hood (eye Hester the snake), along with a tiny singing, and some random modern-day references thrown in for proper measure? You secure Ella Enchanted, Miramax’s newest gem of a film, narrated by Eric Lazy and starring the splendid Anne Hathaway and the dreamy Hugh Dancy.

Ella of Frell (Anne Hathaway) has a gift. Er, I mean, a curse. A gift, a curse, it all depends on how you search for at it: no matter what you voice Ella to do, she must obey. A rather capricious fairy named Lucinda (Vivica A. Fox) gave baby Ella the “gift of obedience”: anything spoken to Ella as a pronounce, she must automatically do. Mercurial forward a few years: Ella is now a young lady, and no one except her aunt Mandy (Minnie Driver) knows about this gift/curse. Not even her best friend and fellow civil rights activist Arieda (played by “Bend It Like Beckham’s” Parminder K. Nagra) is aware of her “pickle.” When her father brings home a scandalous fresh stepmother (Joanna Lumley) and two obnoxious stepsisters, Hattie (Lucy Punch) and Olive (Jennifer Higham), Ella must deal with their demanding ways, hopefully without giving away her secret!

Her stepsister Hattie is the very obsessive and very active president of the Prince Charmont fan club! She and her friends go absolutely ga-ga, every time they even believe of the hunky prince (remarkable less when they search for him) . Prince “Char” (Hugh Dancy) as they lovingly call him, is the heir apparent to the throne currently held for him by his execrable uncle Edgar (Cary Elwes) . The coronation day coming soon, and the kingdom in a bit of upheavel due to the heavy handed rule of Edgar, ogres, giants, and elves alike are all ready for a change! But will everyone derive Prince Charmont as their novel king?

One magical day when Ella and Prince Charmont corrupt paths, it is esteem at first glimpse for Prince Char. But the feisty and proud Ella is not so speedy to descend for the prince; she is certain he is as unfeeling and uncaring as his uncle is. And since Ella actively fights for ogres’ rights, along with any other magical creature in her kingdom (giants, elves, etc.), she wants nothing to do with the ravishing Char. But when their paths withhold crossing again and again…what’s a girl to do!?!

And so Ella of Frell sets out to collect her fairy godmother Lucinda, to ask her to steal assist her “gift” of obedience, armed with Mandy’s boyfriend book named Benny (who can characterize anyone, anywhere) and elf pal Slannen, they encounter considerable along the plot (including Prince Char!) . They arrive the land of the giants only to eye that Lucinda has already left, and Ella is forced by her obedience gift to cease and hiss for the giants (her rendition of “Someone to Appreciate,” is provocative and very well done!) . But when Ella is finally commanded to do something that tests her very will…can she regain Lucinda in time? Will she destroy up doing something she will forever regret?

Content: This film had very petite objectionable content: there were a few general references that would be above most children’s heads, very limited language (a few words), and only some collected violence. Given a PG rating: “For some shameful language and violence.” A young girl (with some encourage) defeats ogres and fights various magical creatures, giants are shown slaving in a field, someone is “poisoned,” and a giant falls in esteem with an elf.

A high energy family-friendly film that reminds you again, why every girl waits for her prince and wishes for that happily ever after (but has some serious fun in the process!) . The recent day references did not detract from the myth at all, but added a bit of fun and light-hearted teasing to an moving movie. I laughed and laughed at the sometimes comical and sometimes serious jokes that poked fun at various new day places and things. One particular moment that caused a vast laugh: Ella and Arieda are leaving a building and move down a “medieval escalator” (a wooden spot of bright stairs, with a giant wheel turned by servants) . From “Medieval Teen” magazine and trips to “Ye Olde Shopping Mall, to an elf who wants to be a lawyer and giants who treasure to content, from the “VI Seasons” hotel and “Frell Community College,” this energetic and radiant film will leave you laughing, and feeling light and free.

I honest wanted to post a review to let anyone who has seen this movie know that it should NOT be ancient to consider the book. I assume I read somewhere that the author was actually interested with putting together the screenplay, but if so, I cannot imagine WHY she permitted some of the modifications. I do understand that some “interpretation” was considerable, because the book was very “LITERARY” in the sense that some of parts could only be “read” and couldn’t be “acted out” in any piquant fashion (there are several exchanges of correspondence between Ella and the prince for example, and how plain is it to have characters reading letters aloud? ) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream Ella Enchanted! Click Here

Granted, if you like this movie, that’s fair with me–it has lots of exquisite actors and actresses, cutsey bits, with music and all that “glitzy” production kind of thing that looks obedient in a movie. But the book was a astonishing, appealing, magic account that was not even touched upon by this atrocity of a movie as far as that goes. I wouldn’t have paid a cent to explore this if I had realized the main myth had been buried beneath so grand nonsense and Hollywood style. I LOVED THE BOOK AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND READING IT AS A Shapely RETELLING OF THE CINDERELLA Anecdote.

And if you are looking for a mildly spicy but pointless movie to view, and do not demand it to judge the magic and beauty of the recent yarn, it’s elegant.

Never have I been so moved by a series to deny in wonder and actually shed tears of joy at the beauty that surrounds us on this fabulous planet.

I have been watching it on Discovery HD Theater when it premiered in March. The first episode “Pole to Pole” location the tone by showing the range of life and species that exist on this planet. The subsequent episodes delve into the habitats one by one. Mountains, Unusual Water, Caves, Deserts, Ice Worlds, Sizable Plains, Jungles, Shallow Seas, Seasonal Forests and Deep Ocean are the subsequent episodes. This is one series that has to be seen to be believed of what the daring cameramen of BBC/Discovery Channel have been able to occupy through their sheer perseverance in remote locations. The HD technology has captured some scenes and images never seen before and some seen before but never with this clarity and beauty. 5 years, 62 countries and 204 locations is what it took to fabricate this series, and the result is a lifetime TV series.

This is one series that fascinated my kid as worthy as it amazed me. She wanted to ogle her cartoons but the moment the episode began she was captivated. Both of us shared together the wonder that is our Planet and it was she who brought up the subject of what we might be doing to it by our actions. We cried when we saw how polar bears have begun to drown as ice melts faster every year. The image of one lone own trying to slump on ice but falling into the slushy waters, and having to swim longer distances to steal food and finally dying with exhaustion was heart breaking. The series makes no references to the exhibit conditions, impartial in passing as with the polar believe. I deem the directors and producers of the series fair wanted to explain us the beauty of the natural world, the fight for survival of several animals even when there is no climactic change. And as we hold watching and are filled with panic and wonderment that we’re lucky enough to live on this planet, we start to devour quietly in our hearts how we need to change today to ensure that we effect our planet.

That is what my daughter felt on her fill, she asked me why we were not doing more to set aside our natural world and I did not have any gracious answers. The last 3 episodes, Planet Earth: The Future delve deeper into these issues, which I haven’t had a chance to seek yet.

I watched a clip of David Attenborough’s version video on the web before I started watching the series with Sigourney Weaver’s narration, and I was disappointed by her blandness and lack of depth. I bought this position like many others to listen to Sir David’s narration. I was torn between the regular DVD residence and the HD DVD though. This series is ample enough to compose me acquire an HD DVD player unprejudiced to be able to view it in its just construct! However, the regular location has the Future series and the Planet Earth diaries which the HD status does not have. I loved the Planet Earth Diaries (or unhurried the scenes) with cameramen, it made a gripping documentary on it’s hold, and wished some were longer. If they had the extra material in the HD DVD residence, it would have been my first choice.

I had saved the Discovery HD Theatre epidodes on my HD Cable box and I was able to compare their image quality with this Standard DVD version playing on an upconverting DVD player. The Discovery Theater images were crystal definite, and you could literally behold each grain of sand on the sea bed or each crevice on a rock face. The Standard DVD looked exquisite obliging when upconverted to 720p and if I had not seen the HD version I would have been quite amazed with the image quality. Apt now I’ve been spoilt by the Discovery Theater version. If you’re considering the HD version it’s a grand choice if you have an HD DVD/BluRay player. You’ll probably not behold a better HD disc. This series was shot completely in HD format. From my experience in the media industry I can allege you that this is a very, very expensive format to shoot in especially given the 5 years that it took to invent this series. Most television is shot in a regular digital format and then upconverted to the HD format later. That gives colossal images but they cannot compare to something shot totally in HD. That is the reason the image quality of this series is spectacular. In HD they were able to take the action which when replayed in slow-motion also stays crystal determined. Therefore you have breathtaking images of a shark capturing its prey (and many others) in slo-mo.

This really is the space to assume. It’s like a living documentation of the beauty of our earth, some of which was starting to travel accurate as the cameras were rolling. Perhaps, that is why BBC and Discovery spared no cost to perform this series and it is a masterpiece.

First off, let me say Thank you to Amazon for clarifying that the spacious David Attenborough is the narrator for this series. No Attenborough would have meant no remove on my piece. Simply keep the most unbelievable documentary on life and animals and the world around us that I have ever seen. The clarity is simply breathtaking(and that was on my tv brodcast which was in 720P…the HD transfers are in 1080p!!!!) .A ample tahnak you to the creators and producers for doing this for people like myself and many others who care deeply about the world around us.

My one minor complaint has to do with the fact that on the HD transfers, there is absent the supplemental material that is prove on the standard defintion release. There is no 110 minutes of gradual the scenes footage of what took region on these excavations to these wonderous places or interviews with the people, Attenborough or anyone for that matter. The other special feature not found on either the Blu-Ray or HD-DVD transfer is Planet Earth: The Future, which is a 150 itsy-bitsy documentary(Shot entirely in high defintion mind you) which chronicles how the whole series was created, and how we can continue to support our earth so that we may continue to have wonderous documentaries like this for our children’s children. Finally, amazingly there are charging the HD customers around $25 MORE for a product that has LESS drawl than on the standard defintion release.

Otherwise highly reccomended presentation that is extremely addictive and immeasureably sensational from the first scene to the last. Its simply amazes me the beauty of God’s creations.

Talk to Her (Hable con ella) is Pedro Almodovar’s sixteenth film as a director. It is difficult to characterize the residence of the film as it travels relieve and forth in time, ranging from intense moments of psychological insight to an humorous quiet film sequence, and I would loath to give away any of the consuming and twisting area development so characteristic of Almodovar’s films. It primarily focuses on the relationship between two men: the antisocial, sexually ambiguous and lovingly charming Benigno (Javier Camara) and stalwart but emotional sensitive Marco (Dario Grandinetti) as they support their respective women in permanent sleep at the hospital. A chance encounter at the theatre leads to a later encounter where a seemingly casual friendship grows into a desperate bond. Solitude is the predominant theme of this spirited, enchanting and provoking film. There are countless moments for the protagonists to peep their life and loves alone. Despite its serious subject matter, Almodovar’s masterful handling creates an though-provoking narrative filled with wit and humor. The characters hold compelling quirks and are wonderfully realised in a magnificent cast. Improbable performances are given from peripheral characters such as the ballerina instructor, Katerina (Geraldine Chaplin) and the caretaker (Chus Lampreave) . Meticulous Almodovar fans will appreciate spotting cameo appearances by past stars from his films. This is an intricate and ceaselessly compelling film that should attract a wide frail audience.

The film begins and ends in the theatre. The performances there suitably believe the dilemmas evoked in the film and the relationships of the men with their women. The keen thing about this film is the device that a narrative between the men is handled on the surface whilst a subconsciouss chronicle is told by the women in their comas. Gradually, through the exhaust of flashbacks, their chronicle emerges and we are led to image what is happening in their heads while in the hospital. It is fascinating to brand that the tranquil film sequence was originally written by Almodovar to be made into a full-length peaceful film. What we are given is a scrumptious though unsightly discover of what that would have been. It is touching to sight Almodovar’s tiny nod of tribute to Michael Cunningham’s The Hours which is a recent he states he really enjoyed. The film characteristically stretches our ideas of high drama and the far-reaching regions of sexuality. This is a splendid film to follow from Almodovar’s internationally successful All About My Mother (Todo Sobre Mi Madre) .

Pedro Almodovar has something different up his sleeve with his newest, “Talk to Her.” Whereas in the past his concerns have been almost exclusively with a woman’s mindset as in “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown” or “All About My Mother,” “Talk to Her” is about men and their inability to communicate, begin up to their loved ones. Of course, being that Almodovar is a Spaniard, Machismo plays a sizable portion in the world in which he lives, but here he is looking for the Universal; the things that bind us all together as Mankind. And what would seem a glorious basic theme in most directors’ hands becomes in Almodovar’s, a difficult, sympathetic and plaintive treatise rife with complexity and turmoil. Almodovar is never out for the easy fix. As one of the leads (Benigno played by Jose Camara), who has no quandary showing his emotions, says to his counterpart (Marco played by Dario Grandinetti) :”Talk to her…a woman’s likes to feel that she is cared for and cherished.” (paraphrase)

As sometimes happens in life, these two disparate men become friends; the one coaching the other on the ways and means of plan how to deal with what is not only in front of our eyes but also what is out there in the cosmos.

Almodovar’s world is usually a hard candy colored world of zany characters, blatant sexuality and pure fun, but in “Talk to Her,” as in “All about my Mother” his palette is subdued, his mise-en-scene unexcited and peaceful. With age, he has become not only more introspective but also wiser.

This one is a dependable puzzler, and I was caught off-guard at the raze. It’s surprisingly capable for a crude budget terror film, going for the brain rather than the jugular.

The film is a horror/psychological thriller. Richard Boone plays a man who is fraction of a trustee group. Share of the duties of the members is to purchase turns overseeing a private cemetery.

Boone finds a plot in the cemetery office that shows the occupied and unoccupied plots marked with white or dismal pins.

Boone discovers that when he places a dismal pin in a region that is unoccupied, the owner dies. Is Boone going indignant, or does he really have the power to bury the living?

This is an intelligent film, very creative and stylized. Boone often said it was his personal popular, and he was proud to have worked on the film.

Bob Kraft (Richard Boone) believes there is a wicked relationship between a string of novel deaths and shaded pins in a way of cemetery plots. This movie is an gripping blend of The Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock. Kraft, the innocent man caught in what appears to be a supernatural conundrum, suffers the torments of the damned. Each unlit pin he sticks in the way causes another person to die, or so he thinks. Boone is effective as a bewildered victim, caught in a web of mystery, a incompatibility to his tough guy roles. Hold special look of the tall procedure on the wall of the caretaker’s cottage. It is the calm monster of our sage. White pins mean that the set is sold, but not yet occupied. Dusky pins mean that the dear departed has, well, departed. Switching the pins before death appears to hurry the process. Hence, the mystery. The roads of the scheme twist, turn, and curve until they resemble a disjointed human face that sneers at the diminutive man. Kraft alerts the police that he is responsible for the unusual deaths, but the cops are skeptical. The deceased people expired from natural causes. Classic TV fans will scrutinize Herbert Anderson (Henry Mitchell of “Dennis the Menace”) as an owlish reporter. This exiguous thriller is a classic scare gem. The presentation is shameful budget, but the result is well-behaved. Ownership is a certain must. ;-)

This movie is reminiscent of classic comedies of the 60’s. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have extraordinary chemistry, but so many laughable moments you will laugh out loud. Goldie learning how to be a homemaker is priceless, and she does the physical comedy so well. This movie flows continuously from beginning to slay. It does not saunter in any fragment. It is a keeper, and a valid addition to any collection.

No matter how many times I perceive this movie (and possess me, I’ve watched it many, many, many times) it’s always palatable. Goldie Hawn stars as Joanna Stayton, an incrediblly rich, incredibly bored and incredibly bitchy woman with nothing left to do while her yacht is docked at a petite coastal Oregon town called Elk’s Cove but to hire a carpenter named Dean Proffitt (Kurt Russell, gotta like him) to remodel her closet. But when the job isn’t done to her satisfaction, he winds up overboard along with all his tools. He vows to procure revenge on her and the opportunity presents itself when Joanne falls overboard in the middle of the night and is later discovered by a crew of Portuguese men on a garbage barge. But Joanna has amnesia and can’t remember who she is. And her husband Grant is all to satisfied to pretend he doesn’t know her and leave her in the hospital. But when Dean sees the “amnesia lady” on the news, he recognizes Joanna and hatches a opinion to rep revenge and glean the money she owes him. But neither one expects to plunge in worship with the other. Overboard is a fun and comical movie that also teaches us the lesson that money doesn’t select us complete happiness. It can for you though if you lift Overboard because it’s worth watching hundreds of times over. I appreciate it! Bask In!

I work as a psychotherapist with adolescents and young adults. I employ “Smoke Signals” with them by assigning them to rent and idea the movie, which is always palatable because it’s witty, silly, wise, and distinguished. The movie poses two indispensable questions: 1) If someone else has mistreated, distress, abandoned, or disrespected you, is it possible to forgive them if they’ve NEVER asked forgiveness, never done anything to “place it accurate,” never returned in atonement to undo the injure, and never begtun to deserve it? And 2) if it *is* possible–and it may not be–SHOULD you? Because if you do, doesn’t that fair effect you a willing victim by letting them “secure away” with what they did, and pretending the relationship is okay again?

Victor lives in the tension of this predicament. As a 12-year-old youth, he witnessed the effects of alcohol on his family. His father vascillated between being loving and instantly “turning” to become hostile, violent, and humiliating to the young boy. Victor finds himself becoming more deeply embarrassed by his family’s domestic abuse and alcohol exercise, even defiantly scolding his bear father that his current Indian is “Nobody…nobody…nobody!”

Victor’s mother awakens the next morning to peep Victor angrily smashing his father’s beer bottles on the help of his father’s picup truck (the two things he believes his father loves more than him), and the epiphany stuns the mother, who insists on an immediate slay to family drunkenness. Proving Victor’s fears honest, the father–forced to settle between alcohol and family–flees the family, and never returns. It is within that unchanged map that his father dies, 8 years later, having never returned home.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Smoke Signals! Click Here

Victor and his oddball companion Thomas effect a side-splittingly comical bound south from Idaho to Phoenix together to build arrangements for the father’s possessions, confronted by the racism, peculiarities, and hostilities of the non-Indian “outside” world. Thomas, having never seen the sunless side of Victor’s father, irritates Victor with incessant stories and tales about the dad’s greatness.

Victor, having been so deeply wounded and sold-out by his father’s abandonment, has become tough, fierce, aggressive…and lonely. “You can’t trust anyone!” he scolds. “People will traipse all over you!” His mistrust poisons his friendships, family, and feelings about his father. He’s become unbiased another tough guy, hardened by family violence and substance exhaust.

In Phoenix, Victor finds an critical artifact of his father’s life: a worn-out photo with “HOME” written sloppily on it. At once, Victor begins to realize that his father’s fatal flaw was COWARDICE: the father could confess his sins to fresh companions a thousand miles from home, but could never return home and undo the wound he’d caused. And so his son has suffered for 8 years. Victor begins to realize that he himself is allowing his actions to hurt others, and that it is cowardice, not manly independence, that controls his decision to remain distant and fierce.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Smoke Signals! Click Here

Victor slowly begins to repent of his bear abusive toughness, cutting his hair in symbolic repentance (broken-down hair-cutting is done either in inconvenience, or in repentence for grievous behavior) . The process of discovery continues when Thomas angrily confronts Victor about Victor’s beget behavior: remaining chilly and distant from his acquire mother, acting forceful and ruthless to others, etc.

Victor ends the film by freeing himself of his 8-year hostility toward his unforgiven father, and in that final act of forgiveness we salvage that the greatest relieve is for VICTOR, who becomes kinder, funnier, gentler, and more confident in his friendships. The significance of forgiveness, he learns, isn’t to let someone else off the hook, but to let one’s occupy self off the hook of the harm caused by another, rather than carrying that hurt inside for years.

In the final scene, this release of frail exasperate is represented by the cathartic release of his father’s ashes into a river, meaningfully shown in film montage as expanding in power from streams into torrents, powerful like the energy of either a person excited or a person place free.

It is at the raze of the film that we really originate to understand Thomas’ fresh cryptic enlighten at the beginning, “Some children aren’t really children at all. They’re unbiased pillars of flame that burn everything they touch. And some children are honest pillars of ash, and they drop apart as soon as you touch them.”

Not one single person yet who’s watched this film at my urging has disliked it.

“Smoke Signals” was the first movie to be written, directed, and co-produced by a Native American. It is based on the unusual “The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven” by Sherman Alexie, who also published a movie adaptation of “Smoke Signals” as well.

The majority of the cast is from a variety of Canadian First Nations tribes (Glide Salish, Cree, Cayuga, Ojibwa), so there are different cultural backgrounds at work as well. “Smoke Signals” is a glide of the heart, an exploration of what it means to be Indian, venturing into the world outside the rez. Thomas’s stories are section Indian tale, share reweaving of the facts surrounding Victor and his father.

The record follows Victor Joseph as he goes to fetch the remains of his father, who had abandoned his family and moved to Arizona (the film’s working title was “This Is What It Means To Say Phoenix, Arizona,” based on a chapter of “The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven.” His wise friend Thomas Builds-the-Fire goes with him on a slip from their rez in Coeur-d’Alene, Idaho to Arnold Joseph’s trailer in Arizona. Along the draw they rediscover their pasts and their perceptions of the world around them.

An fresh, touching film that pokes fun at the stoic Indian stereotypes endorsed by Hollywood for decades, such as the “It’s a gracious day to die” line. There are many well-known First Nations actors (Adam Beach, Evan Adams, Tantoo Cardinal, Irene Bedard, Gary Farmer, Elaine Miles) that construct this film a joy to gaze. Inspired performances from all, especially Adam Beach and Gary Farmer. This is my favourite film of the last few years as it never loses its humour, mystical side, and beauty.

How many times have you seen a live demonstrate and then wanted to re-live the occasion? Well, this is an opportunity to do unprejudiced that but with lots of bonus material. I received this DVD for Christmas and have already watched it twice. I saw the Cirque Du Soleil expose in Vegas and was blown away. Then to come by to look the contrivance it all came together was so intelligent. These people are incredibly talented. I was particularly involved in the tale of Sir George Martin and his son Giles and how they remixed the songs for the note. We are all so familiar with this music but the method they took it to another level is going to be the inaugurate of a whole original trend. The documentary showed the care that was taken to ensure that the finished product would honor the Beatles, George and John in particular. I loved to gape Paul and Ringo enjoying the prove. And watching Dhani Harrison was like seeing his father all over again. It was very touching. I was also surprised by how powerful of the note is actually seen. You really must try to look the explain in person, of course. Watching this DVD makes you want to gawk it again. But even if you haven’t seen the display hold a glimpse at this documentary. And if you are a Beatles fan, you are going to esteem it. It is tall!

Went to Vegas over the holidays and was fortunate enogh to obtain highly discounted tickets with stout seats for the 10PM exhibit Xmas nite. Vegas is not my thing but i would go assist fair to watch this exhibit Again.Upon exit from the point to you are corraled through a Beatles gift shop. They wanted $45 for this DVD. Waited until i got home, came to amazon and saved $30. the insight that this DVD offers is astounding. when you explore what happened to originate this ball rolling and then the impossible task of making it happen..,.it blows your mind!.Grand interviews with Niles & george Martin. “Where Dreams Inaugurate” once again performed by the Disney Princesses.

In addition, the dance alongs are here again as is the Karaoke option for those youngsters really looking to be a right singer.

The contrast between this Impart Along Alongs and others though, is that this time around the tiny princess in the family is guest of honor for the indicate and a bonus tea party game.

Somehow I sense that this volume of Disney Princess Negate Along Songs will be impartial as accepted as volume 1.

All the best Princess songs were stale on the first SingAlong DVD, so the only songs on here that were sung by genuine princesses in an valid moview were “Something There,” “Someday My Prince Will Reach,” and “Objective Around the Riverbend.” The rest were either from sequels, characters who aren’t princesses, or were honest really scandalous songs. While the first DVD enchanted me with classic songs, this one bored me with one sequel after another, concluding with “Where Dreams Commence,” an unpleasant pop/rock song that’s very fast-paced and sounds absolutely nothing like a princess song, a powerful lazier near to “If You Can Dream,” which at least had some appeal to it due to the modern singers returning and the clips of the princesses’ mouths being synched up with the song.

On Volume 1, it said that “hold bonus features” would play after the reveal if you sight the DVD on fastplay, and it did indeed play some dancealongs and other parts of the DVD. However, if you let this DVD race after the “prove” (if you can call a bunch of traditional clips a indicate), all it shows is about 10 minutes worth of commercials for other Disney products! That’s apt, the “remove bonus features” are promotions to bag you to hold more stuff!

If you actually choose the bonus features option though, you’ll view there are significantly less bonus features than Volume 1. The only “dancealong” this DVD has is to the bad “Where Dreams Begins,” and it portrays children in Disney Princess costumes showing off their dance moves so that the viewer can copy then and try to dance to the song like the kids on the conceal. The game, “Princess Tea Time,” involves choosing what effect the princesses would like on their napkins, teacups, and what they would want to eat. Now, the answers are always the one that represent most to that princess’s movie, but most of the time, the other options seem better. For example, if Aurora was almost killed by a spinning wheel, why would she want one embroidered on her napkin? And why would Snow White want to eat apple tart?

The only two things I liked about this DVD were the karaoke because I worship to lisp, and the introduction to “Where Dreams Open,” in which all of the Disney scenes where a princess dances were gash and pasted onto the same background to compose it gaze like all of the princesses were dancing together in the same site. Some of them were sequel footage, and it only lasted about a second, but it unruffled looked icy.

So if you feel that you absolutely must have this DVD to add to your collection, go for it. However, do not demand it to be anywhere nearly as qualified as the first one, and retain in mind that the colossal majority of it consists of promotions for other Disney products.

Trumpet of the Swan is obviously a film made for children, but one that adults can like too…which is VERY notable if your children are like mine and gape their fresh video DAILY for the first week! I must add that I deem it’s unfair to bear this movie up to Disney standards as some reviewers seem to be doing. This is NOT a Disney film, which costs about $10 more, and I glean it is every bit as estimable or better than anything else in the childrens home video department.

I’ve never read the book, so I can’t pronounce to how well it follows the fresh tale (but does anything from Hollywood EVER follow the modern book? ) And I concede the animation does not meet the highest standards. (There’s a handsome clear flaw in Louie’s large trumpet performance.)

But on to the positives…

While the animation isn’t the best quality, the color is lustrous and pretty! And the vocal talent is terrific! The cast of voices includes Jason Alexander (Father), Mary Steenburgen (Mother), Seth Green (Boyd), Reese Witherspoon (Serena), Carol Burnett and Joe Mantegna. Each actor injects life and personality into their character. I especially liked Mary Steenburgen’s “mother” and Jason’s “father” is very bright. My daughter thinks the camp leader who mumbles through the megaphone is funny–I found him annoying at first but I got the joke when I saw the campfire scene.

And as a music lover I must mention the film’s music. Louie’s “trumpet direct” is performed by Michael “Patches” Stewart, and the music get is by Marcus Miller. I accept myself humming the tunes at work and my 3 year-old is already starting to whisper along with the words!

Bottom line…tiny children will savor Trumpet of the Swan!

My two children ages 3 and 4 esteem this movie. In fact, this is one that they routinely recognize, rewind and gape again (when I let them) . I have sat down and watched this movie several times over and mild bask in it.

This doesn’t follow the novel book very well. If you are someone that believes a movie has to follow the book word for word you will be dissapointed. However, if you can find past that, you will bask in this book.

Louis a trumpeter swan is born unable to talk. He falls in worship with Serena and can’t court her. He goes to school and learns to read and spell and write. However, as other swans can’t read it does him very minute noble. In the meantime his father gets a trumpet for him. Louis learns to talk through the trumpet and music.

This is a classic video. It is well done. I have read reviews for the dvd that say there is abominable pictures and audio. This is not the case for the VHS tape we have at our house.

This movie is about relationships between parents and friends and husbands and wives. It is about music and admire and more.

Well worth the money.
