How to Go Green in 5 Steps

If you want to know how to go green and you cannot seem to find the right list of steps, you can stop your search right there. Here are the basic instructions for how to go green in just 5 simple steps.

Step 1 - Decide on your level of green. Planning is always a great first step and living an alternative lifestyle is a huge change. How eco-friendly do you really want to go? If you just want to tinker in the idea for a bit, you can change out a few light bulbs and invest in caulking to cut down on wind drafts that cause electric bills to increase. On the other hand, if you are talking energy generation, there will be a whole new set of things to do.

Step 2 - Set a budget. Choosing eco-friendly alternatives to traditional items is more expensive, there is no way around it. You will need to establish a yearly or monthly budget and stick with that budget. The idea is to save money not spend more.

Step 3 - Set up a savings account. Changing life to be more energy efficient will result in saving money. It is best to save that money for a rainy day or special purchase (maybe some solar panels). Each month, place the savings you see from your changes into the bank account.

Step 4 - Get the family on board. If you are trying to cut back energy costs and fossil fuel consumption and the family is not coming along for the ride, so to speak, you may soon grow tired of the process. If the entire family makes a change and sees the benefit of that change, everyone will stick with it for the long haul.

Step 5 - Go Green! Whether you are installing solar energy panels or trading in your gas guzzler for a green car, you just need to make the change without thinking too long about it.

Gold Coast Tire & Auto Computer Recycling

Computer Recycling Can Help the Less Fortunate

Gold Coast Tire & Auto Computer Recycling By Andrea Kroger

There are many children who do not have the means to get their own computers. Their schools are underfunded and do not have access to computers either. If they do have computers, they are not considered top of the line and they do not offer the training and instruction that newer computers can. Computer recycling can offer these underprivileged children access computers that they can own.

With the holidays almost on us, thoughts turn to getting new computers for the family. But what to do with their old computers when the new ones come in? The best thing to do is take them to a computer recycling center. These centers take old computers and components and fix them up for those who are less fortunate.

It can be best to turn these computers in before the holidays so that those who do not have the means to purchase their own children new computers can get them. They can then wrap them up and put them under the tree for their kids. Those who do not know what it is like to do without cannot understand how much these used computers can mean not only to the children who receive them, but to the mothers and fathers who cannot afford to purchase them.

Because the economy at its worst, many parents have fallen on hard times. They do not have the means to give their children what they want and need for the holidays. Instead of being a happy time, this turns into one of dread when these families realize there is not going to be much giving other than love this year.

While love can go a long way, computer recycling can do a lot to make what would be a sad occasion incredibly happy. Parents are not going to have to worry how they are going to put presents under the tree, and the children are going to have something to look forward to. When people think how much this can mean to a family, the choice to recycle a computer makes so much more sense.
